EcoCarbon sponsored the international conference “Argus Coal Russia – 2022. CIS and Global Markets” held on February 18, 2022, in Moscow. The event which brought together leading Russian coal producers, global consumers, international traders specializing in supplying coal to Western Europe, Asia-Pacific, Turkey, Poland and Morocco.

Recognized experts and reputable speakers from around the world shared their views and discussed the role of fundamental factors and state administrative resources in balancing supply and demand in the Chinese coal market, forecasts of coal supplies from Russia to Europe, Southeast Asia, North Africa, as well as the prospects for Russian coal exports amid the increasing price volatility and imbalances in the global energy market.

Special attention was paid to the global climate agenda, in particular to the introduction of a transboundary carbon tax in the EU, given their impact on the coal industry in Russia and in the world.

In addition to participants of the conference, delegates who joined the online broadcast of the event were able to ask their questions to the speakers using a special digital platform and take part in panel discussions.
